Oblivion

Apparently Anthony Gonzalez did the entire score/soundtrack for Oblivion. After learning this (even though the news as been out since early March) im pretty stoked about this and it may even push me to watch the movie even more now.

StarWave (the first track released from the soundtrack, which i embedded) is very reminiscent of a John Murphy piece but more electronic. extremely beautiful and powerful and the second track released, “Oblivion” is just as bad ass (song here; http://goo.gl/3UxRF).

it’s amazing seeing the progression, not only in popularity, but in the style that M83 has gone through. i remember listening to Dead Cities, Red Seas and Lost Ghosts and then listening to tracks from Saturdays = Youth and think of how evolved the music has become. it was a steady and amazing evolution.
